Changing your ERP system is one of if not the most difficult and disruptive things a business can do. And, having an attitude toward that change akin to ‘its the implementors problem not mine’ is fundamentally short changing your value and will only cause issues for everyone.
The only approach that is proven to work when undertaking change of this magnitude is for senior management to assume full ownership of the implementation. As an implementation goes live senior management should have sufficient skill toward the system to be a relief administrator.
Assuming control of the project internally and having the vendor provide support toward pitfalls, architecture and so on, helps prevent you from making the same mistake as others. While, Externalizing your problems as the implementors is a guaranteed path to implementation failure.
